I have a tenancy continuing for 5 years. Due to renew on 15th June. Want to increased rent. Have issued notice of more than 2 months by Section 13. Open Rent does not allow the new increased rent to be logged. Surely it cannot count this as a new tenancy. Matter is urgent for maintaining 2 months notice period. Any advice?
Do you use openrent rent collection service? If not, you don’t need to update anything.
@Ameeta1 you can log it by attaching a copy of the s13 in the documents section under manage tenancy. But logging on OR is purely admin if you have served the s13 already there is no worry about 'maintaining the notice period ’
You can also amend amount shown in contract using manage tenancy - change rental amount- maybe do that after payments for current amount received to make sure it’s done properly
Due to Renters Rights Act the tenancy agreenent becomes rolling monthly from today. It doesn’t ‘renew’ and there are no such things as fixed terms anymore. If you don’t understand about this get some training as there are fines of up to 40k for doing things based on previous ways (sorry if obvious)
Good luck
I have the Same issue. I’ve filed the section 13 with more than 2 months notice and the rent is due to he increased in July. But once you go on the open rent platform and do manage rent. It doesn’t allow you to manage the rent payment that way. How silly. Everything is done correct from my end with plenty of time. It looks like the open rent platform is lagging behind. If it doesn’t catch up soon I’ll be ending my services with open rent as they need to be on the ball with these things.
Same question as above - do you use Openrent Rent Collection?
Just trying to understand the perspective on these posts.
Try logging out and logging in again. It has worked for me this morning.
Hi @Ameeta1
You are able to reflect an increase in the rental amount on OpenRent using Rent Collection and you can read our full advice on how to do this here:
