I now, always do an inventory.
When I very first let a property out, I cannot recall doing one.
Have you ever not done one or never done one.
I know now they are a must, but I read an old article about how often landlords do not do inventories.
As a tenant i think i would be very wary of any landlord that dosent do an inventory
As its maybe for my peace of mind and proof as well as theirs and surely it would show that a landlord was potentially only interested in the money and not the actual property (which I personally belive isnt the case for MOST landlords) and how are they going to react when and if something they should be responsible for goes amiss
I cannot remember when I last did an inventory. and I have been a landlord for 40 years But do now have mostly commercials . Any item needs doing I do it. I keep a ready stock of sockets, switches , locks ,screws , nails elec showers, toilet seats, smokies and so on I have had great tenants , 95% of the time
