Is OpenRent still using Rentguard?

As above, Is Openrent still using Rent guard for referencing, or are they using another company now?

Following the feedback from many of our landlords (including many posts on our community here!), we are no longer using RentGuard to supply our referencing reports. We do still partner with them for certain products, and they continue to be a great partner, but we needed deeper levels of integration and flexibility for referencing specifically.

The motivation behind the switch is for us to be able to improve on many of the processes that have been “stuck” for many years, so do watch this space as we continue to rapidly improve referencing following the great feedback we’ve been getting. It also allows us more flexibility in delivering RGI to landlords, which we know landlords missed when it wasn’t available.

As ever - we aim to improve our service every day, and if you have any feedback on the new referencing reports do let our team know.

So who are Open rent using for referencing ?

Hi @Lynn1 - We’re actually using an array of suppliers to power our referencing, and then pulling the information back together. Landlords/Tenants will interact with OpenRent directly for referencing now, rather than heading off to a third party, which means we should be able to fix/find problems much more quickly if they arise.

Any questions about specific referencing issues do let me know, otherwise you can find out more details about our referencing service generally here along with an updated sample report:

Thanks!
