My current landlord issued me with a section 8 eviction notice due to unpaid rent. I have applied for a house and the landlord wants to proceed with my application but has to reference first, I have put my address down but given a previous landlord for a reference, what’s the chances of him wanting to speak to my current landlord or will my previous suffice?
I would say pretty high. To be honest it probably won’t matter as he wants you gone so may well say you are just like Mother Teresa.
Have you not filled in an application form that asks if you have had rent arrears or faced eviction? Have you told porky pies?
I would find a guarantor as a back up plan.
