Hi we received a letter from landlord saying we have to be put 9 october. He said the letter was a section 21. Not a form. Is this legal. Then yesterday he said if ee leave in 2 weeks he will give us 500 towards a deposit. We paid 850 deposit 7 years ago. We havent found anywhere but we have looked and had no luck. Can he do anything after 2 weeks if he wants us out. In our yenancy we were never given gas certificate or any pther kind. Im wortied hell evict us after 2 weeks
He is playing on your ignorance off the law .He cannot evict without a court order. Make sure if and when you leave ,you clean well and take pics to get deposit back

He has to serve you a valid notice - s21 or s8. This will give you at least 2 months notice. I wouldnt recommend forcing the landlord to get a court order as you may then find it difficult to persuade another landlord to let to you.

He has to give you 2 months notice. If he gave you notice on 30th August that takes you to 30th october. If notice period is invalid he has to give new 2 month notice dated from today.
