Landlord wont answer the references request

My current landlord wont respond at the references request… I should give 1 month notice but it’s still 1 month and 1 week to go so I decided to apply for a house to share with my friends and to see if I get approve before giving notice … all the references are now complete apart from my landlord references…

My question is : what will happen if my current landlord wont answer the references request ?

I am a landlord and I dont take too much notice of a landlords reference . I wonder if some have a hidden agenda in getting rid of a tenant. I do know one or two who charge for a good reference ! You have to rely on your future landlord liking you as a person. I had a cracking reference from a landlord and the tenant had a CCJ !
