I have paid holding deposit after all my documents varification. Now I am in the referece stage. My employer has completed reference request but my current landlord not responding. First my current landlord said they have not received the reference request - now not responding at all. I am in very difficult situation as I have given the notice after paying the holding deposit and the property I am looking for they said my deadline is until monday for landlord referencing.
All other checks are completed like: credit check, salary etc.
Any advise?

Your new landlord will want the reference for 2 reasons:
- To show you have paid the rent. You could offer bank statements to prove you have paid the rent. Blank out anything you dont wish to disclose.
- To show you have looked after the property. You could either invite new landlord to your current home to verify you have looked after it or maybe show him on zoom etc
No guarantee the new landlord would accept these but personally as a landlord I would prefer evidence to a landlords reference.

Hi thank you very much for your reply. I have the bank statement for last 4 years payments, all bills the up to date but new landlord needs current landlord’s reference to complete.
Tell your new landlord you are not receiving a response. You could pass on your current landlords details and get your new landlord to contact him directly.
