Do multiple failed credit history checks count against you cumulatively..by which I mean, is it better to try to sort out credit issues before making repeated applications?
You may be better researching this with the credit reference agencies, as they make the decisions about how they interpret information. There are also differences between ‘hard’ searches and ‘soft’ seraches.
You can use a service such as Experian, Equifax, CreditKarma etc to view your credit score, and see for yourself how different things affect it over time. If you are a tenant, you can also include your rent payments to improve your credit score, using a service such as Creditladder.
Hi @Anthony30,
As part of OpenRent’s referencing service we will run a soft credit check through our partner, Equifax.
Once the referencing report is complete, the landlord will be able to see your risk score and if you have any adverse credit on your record. You can read more about this on Equifax’s website.
Don’t worry - having your credit checked through our referencing will not affect your credit score. You can find out more about what is included in referencing here.
