Negative affordability check for lead tenant

Hi. we have a one bed flat that we have found lovely tenants for. It’s an unmarried couple. The lady works part time and is a student. The gentleman works full time and is on a renewing yearly work contract. The referencing came back negative for the lady and positive for the gentleman (up to £1200, which covers the rent we have advertised). On the tenancy request, the lady is the main tenant. Could that be a problem in a situation where unfortunately, lets say, they split up? Shall I ask her the put down her partner’s name as the sole tenant? Or can I add him as her guarantor? If so, how does that work? It’s our first time letting a property so any advice in this regard would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
