I have recently bought my tennant a new fridge freezer. Unfortunatley, the cable does not reach the plug. . If it was my own fridge freezer, I would use an extension cable but I am not sure if it is legal to use one in a rental property for a fridge freezer. Does anyone know?
You can use an extension lead
It may need its own protection though so speak to an electrician
Thanks for replying. Sorry I sound daft but what do you mean by its’own protection’? Would that mean some kind of cover?
Yes
I’m not sure of the technical term but it’s like a plug with an inbuilt switch so it cuts out if there’s a power overload
It’s a single socket with an inbuilt rcd safety adaptor
Is it a surge protector?
