I have found plenty of listings lacking either outside or inside pictures. Some went as far as not putting any pictures of the property at all.

Agreed! Listings without photos are less than ideal. We always advise landlords that having photos of their property up will help get it rented sooner.
What’s often the case is that landlords will opt to use professional photography, though will continue advertising until they have the photos.
Given how landlords are always able to add in photos to their listing at a later date, it’s worth contacting any such landlords for photos to be added to the advert.
