Please be aware!

This studio was advertised at £1400 then £1450 on a different add which I attached also, the photos are different but the it’s def the same studio, I went to. Ire this yesterday, nobody greeted me, I was given access codes, my offer of £1300 was accepted very fast they then said I must immediately pay £1500 to secure the flat, I questioned their credentials as they are only on OpenRent 2 days, they claimed to have an office on paul st in London yet I myself work on paul st & knee this to be untrue, I feel they are simply trying to list the same flat multiple times on different adds & attempting to secure as many large holding deposits as possible . Also the flat was dirty & totally empty with zero furniture.

The contract they sent me was suspicious also, it was actually a holiday let contract. You may choose dismiss my claims here & that’s your call but I know a scam when I see one & I really don’t want any of your users to lose large amount of moneys

I’ll again attach some of the text thread they sent me, I decided to pull out, & now having seen they have listed yet another add for £1250 fir the exact same flat I know I was right to report

On each viewing their is an option to report the listing to Openrent. You need to do that please to protect others.

Good man . watch out for a reappearance in a different guise

If open rent did their due diligence before listings there would be less of a problem
Perhaps openrent you should check deeds and passports on all properties before listing
Nothing is more expensive than being scammed …

really? this is happening in 2025? I remember something like this was very common about 10 years ago.

I agree. I cant see why they dont do more due diligence on customer ads.
