Tenants slow to provide referencing info

How long do you recommend giving tenants to provide their information for references and credit checks?

5 days. If keen they will be quicker and give the info right away

Personally, I would chase them up after approx 24 hrs. If they can’t provide an explanation as to why it’s not been done, I’d refund the holding deposit after 48 hrs.

Thanks, it’s making me a bit nervous. I’ve said they need to upload it by Sunday pm so the check can happen on Monday. If I’ve not it then I’ll refund the deposit and market again.

I rented a property in London 2 weeks ago, the tenants were really quick to get everything done, but it all seems to be much slower on this property in Devon, although I’m told the market is hot I’m not experiencing that so much.
