Tennant referencing fail

Just wanted some feedback if possible, how seriously do LL’s take the openrent referencing recommendation. I received the report and have failed due to being unable to verify income, this was due to not being able to provide an income reference (as due to GDPR my employer will not give out this info) and being unable to link my bank account due it not being supported.
I will be the lead tennant and can easily afford the rent on the applied for property alone, but also have my partners income. I did specify that I can and will provide proof of income, but am I likely to be rejected by the LL due to things that are beyond my control?

Landlords show discretion, but does depend on their experience. I use referencing as a guide only (mainly for the credit check) and do my own checks.

Has landlord looked at bank statements? If not volunteer them along with payslips etc. Landlord could contact employer direct.
