One bedroom accommodation but we dont seem To be having luck. We have a well behaved 16 year old dog. We are decent honest people who seem to not stand a chance . No one will give us a chance in renting their property.

why are we having so much bad luck in finding a property with a decent landlord.
Unfortunately with the pressure put on government by the likes of Generation rent and Shelter “housing charities” it’s made successive governments deter landlords via tax and legislation.
That means there are less landlords, who can afford to be very picky with who they chose.
Unfortunately, Most landlords won’t choose someone on benefits as many councils will not pay the going rate, therefore expecting the tenant to pick up the difference…which they won’t be able to.
I feel for you and redundancy is no joke, I was even mad redundant myself, so can see things from both sides.
