Im currently private renting and moved in two years ago. 3 windows are broke (dont shut) and my backdoor to my garden has a broken handle so i can’t lock it completely and i cant open it from the inside.
Was promised to be fixed ready for when i moved in but they weren’t. Ive raised the issue since moving in and even have a letter from the ladlady stating i requested for them to be repaired.
Was only one week into covid lockdown the landlady sent someone to look at the windows and doors, which i wasn’t happy about concidering i have 3 children and covid lockdown had come into affect.
Since them entering for measurements etc i still have unsafe windows and back door.
I am in rent arrears due to the recent climate, does my landlady still have a legal obligation to complete repairs?
Yes still has obligation to do repairs.
