Discriminating landlord

After seeing an advert on here I made an inquiry about a ground floor two bedroom flat just off Ruislip High Street. I told the landlord I was willing to pay a year in advance Plus take our own insurance out and I also had a guarantor. He thanked me for my details and said he would be in contact sometime this week for a viewing. About a day later I received an email asking what I did for a living which I informed him I was on long-term sickness plus my mother and her partner was pensioners. I didn’t hear back from him for a couple of days so I wrote to him on Monday saying I was very interested and did he know when he was going to have the viewings. Today I get an email stating he’s going in a different Direction after offering us a viewing. This is clearly discrimination and illegal and I am fed up with landlords doing this on this app. If the landlord is reading this whose name begins with T I suggest you getting contact sir you know my number ending with 666 because I will be taken out legal proceedings because what you’ve done is discrimination and I’ve also ready been in contact with shelter who are advising me how to take these matter forward because what you’ve done is illegal you know it and I know it and I will not tolerate the discrimination from landlords on this site anymore even if it means I get blacklisted. So I suggest you getting contact if you read this or if anyone knows best gentleman who’s got a two-bedroom property just of Ruislip High Street in hill lane because I did take screenshots of everything which was set between us which would prove a hundred percent this is discrimination so do yourself a favor and get in contact before you rent a place out you have been warned or legal proceedings will happen and any landlord who doesn’t think this is illegal what he’s done I suggest you all check the laws and regulations

And let me inform you about something I have been living at my present address for over eight years I have done painting and decorating fixed the Cabinets in the kitchen I keep the place clean to a very high standard with carpet cleaners so did your tenants do stuff like that because that’s the reason I have excellent references so put that in your pipe and smoke it Mark coming out with such perfect statements. If we couldn’t afford for property I could understand it but we offered a complete one years money up front as well as the insurance plus we had a guarantor and any future years we would pay up front. So would any of your tenants do that kind of stuff plus would you recommend them again like my estate agent has and my present landlord has who we have been with for over eight years and the only reason we are moving is because he wants to sell up. You see when we have landlords like you around who clearly would discriminate against people like me who’s on benefits you give landlords about name so put that in your pipe and smoke it okay and think before you speak when you wouldn’t get whipped for opening your mouth about something you don’t even understand clearly

I’m one thing I forgot to mention I’m a recovering cancer patient so you would discriminate like that would you how low do you feel now

Landlord’s property, landlords rules. You can’t have what you can’t afford in this world.

LL probably realised you would be difficult to get along with by what you were saying to him. If so he was definitely correct.

Maybe he didn’t like the idea of someone moving in with 2 other adults into their flat, so three adults at home all day causing wear and tear on his worked hard for valuable asset. Not when he can choose between 80+ other people.

Anyone with a quarter of a brain would just move on and put efforts into finding someone that is willing to take them on.

Totally inappropriate that you would use something so sensitive to try to manipulate.

When a LL chooses one applicant over another the LL discriminates. That’s what it means. It’s not personal, it’s business.

And your phone number really ends in 666?

That is a devil of a phone number. A direct line maybe ?

We discriminate when we choose a particular supermarket, a partner, a car. etc . It is called choice.

It says maximum of for adults I may be you need to go and speak to a solicitor because what he’s done is illegal I’ve spoken to shelter and they are in agreements with me you can’t do that to people because he is discriminating against me because I’m on benefits. But again Mark you have made yourself look a complete fool. your words not mine you can’t have what you can’t afford oh really did you not read what I said in the first place we had offered one year’s money in full upfront I think it was £19,980 which was the rent in full. So why would I be offering that kind of money if I can’t afford it forward it idiot and I’m sorry to say that but you are for coming out with that statement. Another reason landlords don’t like renting to people like myself who is on long-term sickness is to due to the insurance we offer to pay the insurance as well plus my brother works for Mercedes-Benz and owns his own house outright and was willing to be a guarantor there is absolutely no reason for him to not allow us to view the house and take it on when we had great references from our current estate agent and landlord. The only reason we are moving is because I know a lot of landlords are given up and it’s a shame you’re not giving up if that’s the attitude you have towards tenant. Yes a landlord do what he likes but within the letter of the law which clearly you don’t understand and discrimination against people on benefits when they have offered everything upfront and there is absolutely no reason not to take someone on benefits on and you have offered them a viewing but when you found out they are on benefits you withdrawed that and didn’t even have the bottle to say I’m sorry but we we’re not interested and leave it for a few days keeping me in limbo well I’m sorry they are now going to face the letter of the law and I hope someone takes you to court and you end up finding out you can’t do everything you want but if you want your bottom spank to gain come out with another reason why the landlords shouldn’t rent to me and I will knock you down again because as I said we keep a property to a perfect condition never missed a payment in eight years even during the lockdown and in fact we contacted the landlord to ask why they hadn’t taken the payment when it was about three or four weeks late so does that sound like someone who doesn’t have money when they’re offering that kind of money you really have made yourself look a full mate and so I suggest you give your brain a chance before you open your mouth because clearly you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about and you’re not a businessman if you would be turning down 20,000 upfront

So you’re another landlord who doesn’t have a clue what you’re talking about when an offer is made you can’t take it back this landlord offered us a viewing but when found out we was on benefits has clearly withdrawn it which means I can Sue. You really need to look into the law because you will find out discrimination is taken very seriously nowadays. And please don’t say he only wanted to adults he was advertised as maximum 4 adults. At my present property I have lived here for over eight years never missing a payment not even during lockdown I have two great references from the present landlords and the estate agent who would have no problems in renting to me again and my family. We keep a property to the highest standard as there is a little bit of damp in the place and every year I do for painting and decorating with the approval of the landlord I have done several jobs around the house never called the landlord out apart from when we had a serious leak in eight years I have even replaced rubbers on the windows and fixed the cupboards in the kitchen. As I said in my original post we offered the money upfront one year in advance and any future years if a contract is a rearable of both parties a year upfront again plus we insurance plus we had a guarantor unless you’re not a businessman and don’t have a clue about the rules and regulations will be no reason not to rent to us yes landlords can do what they want to appoint but they can’t discriminate against you know that and I know that and if you really think using Tesco’s and Sainsbury’s and which car model you would choose is relevant in this conversation what an idiot you are to come out with that you really can’t have a brain mate honestly because that is prophetic and you’re acting like a child because they would have more Intelligence than you.

Not a business man ? I have 3 businesses and if you think 20K upfront would sway me . Wrong . To me that is chicken feed. Next time you apply for a place be upfront with your situation right away . The landlord may have considered you devious in hiding your situation

I don’t know how long you been renting because you are a new landlord on here let me explain something to you there is a discrimination act which you can’t break. I don’t know if I’m didn’t meet myself clear but as I said he had been through the papers offed us a viewing where he would be in contact next week but asked what I did for a living. When I told him I was on long term sickness because I was recovering my parents was retired he was not interested he just dropped us which is discrimination because he had already offered us a viewing. Please don’t say up like that other idiot we couldn’t afford for property because we had offered him a years money up front of 19, 8890 I think it was which covered the full amount. Because we’re not working some landlords have problems with insurance again we was willing to get our own insurance plus my brother works in a very good job owns his own house and was willing to be a guarantor for us not that we would want one because we are paying all that money upfront. We keep our property to a very very high standard which are landlords and estate agent know where is absolutely no reason whatsoever not to have gone forward unless it was discrimination because not once in their eight years we have been renting and even before then our old landlords have we ever missed the payment even during the lockdown and we have been at our present property for eight years and the only reason landlord would want us to leave is because he wants to retire so we want to get out as soon as possible for him as he’s a lovely guy and I have a great relationship with him like I do with the current estate agent so as I said no reason whatsoever for not going forward and even having a chance to meet us which clearly shows what the kind of person this is but I will take you forward and take him to Court with the help of shelter who are right behind me on this and think it’s a disgrace what he’s done so if you know better in shelter and you think the Lord doesn’t apply to you do it to one of your tenants and maybe he would take the same action because what he’s done is this grateful

You will always be rejected because you are an obnoxious ignorant little burk.

And the “can’t afford it” comment relates to not being able to afford your own house, where you can set your own rules! Try to actually think before making your noise.

Keith, here are five reasons why a LL might not consider your application:

  • There are better applicants in the process
  • Realistically, some LLs might consider those on benefits less appealing
  • Only the LL really knows why they’ve rejected an application
  • Landlords don’t need to give you a reason why they’ve rejected your application
  • Lawyers will have a hard time proving your belief that there was legal discrimination

I been there 6 months ago and in the end i found a house where I want but it was through estate agents and 3 months of stress looking and getting rejected by landlords as soon as i mention 6 months in advance trying to build my business( one was very over the top and rude on open rent) but i moved on as it is the landlords choice and their property.
after a house visit 2 weeks ago i been told that the landlord said that I’m the best tenant he ever had .
Keep looking you will find something no point to waste time especially when you dealing with health problems.
Good luck.
