Do I need gas safety certificate if there’s no gas supply?

Hi all

OpenRent keeps reminding me to get a gas safety certificate but there’s no gas supply in flat or in the building (confirmed by the management company). The only gas boiler for the whole development is located in another building to provide central heating and hot water.

I’m assuming in this case I don’t need to provide a gas safety certificate? Would it cause any potential issues if I don’t provide one?

you cannot give a certificate on something that is not there

Just make sure there are no “live” gas pipes running through your property.
