Electric test / gas test booking mix up - help needed

Hi I’ve literally just booked an electric test & a Gas safe & service on OpenRent, problem is they messaged immediately & I presumed it was the Gas as I’d literally only just completed the electrical test request, so I’ve booked them thinking it’s Gas & it’s not, problem is I’m not ready for the electric test yet. I also don’t need pat testing now I’ve spoken to the electrician on the phone so need refunding for that too. Problem is I can’t get through to Open rent directly ? Is there a contact tel no’ ???
Help they’re coming out tomorrow.
Thanks in advance

This is really making me think twice about continuing to rent through them & I was going to use all their services ??
Any other nightmares to warn me of please do ?!

electrics and gas I arrange with good local tradesmen. Then YOU are in control and have their phone number

I really wish I’d looked at these messages on here now in advance……I’d have never continued to book them !

you will know next time, why use a 3rd party when you can go direct?

@katepereira_1 - I can see you cancelled both this afternoon. The option to speak to the engineer, manage your booking, or message OpenRent are all available from the site 24/7. Glad to see you sorted it quickly.

@Colin3 - Your comments are, well, unfounded to say the least.

  1. We reply to all customer service queries within 1 business day, and same day if you contact us within hours. Far from needing any chance.
  2. We put you in touch with the engineer directly via our platform, so you are also in control of any jobs with gas engineers, electricians, or any in-person service we offer.
  3. This includes the ability to cancel / modify your booking, process a refund, etc.

As far as I can tell you’ve never used our gas or electrical services - so I’m not sure where these negative comments stem from. If you’ve had a negative experience, I’d be happy to look into it, but it seems you are purely speculating. If you are speculating, then please make that clear to others. As an experienced member of the community people might mistake your comments for fact, which makes the community worse as a whole. Sorry I’m confused with the response above ?

Daz are you an electrician or from Open rent ? & just to let you know, I didn’t cancel anything, I suddenly got a message from a new electric company after the job ?
The complaint escalated because the 1st electric company didn’t even let me know they’d pulled out, so I’d have made a special & pointless journey to my house ?
They never informed me that they’d canceled which would have been nice tbh !!
I think you should vet the companies you use as the electricians were unhelpful & frankly awkward to say the least. They were clearly only interested in a job that needed pat tests as they lost interest in my job when I realised I never needed it & needed a refund ?
They then canceled without telling me & would have seriously let me down, thankfully I rang open rent immediately when I saw another company after the job to question what was going on ?

Leaves me with little faith in Open rent though now sadly.

Open rent should have an easily accessible tel no to contact.
I had to search for a tel no on here & finally found it in a post from 3 years ago ?!

Why make it so hard to contact you ?

I am from OpenRent.

You can contact us 24/7 from here:

We will respond / resolve any issues within 1 business day. If you contact us during working hours, that will be same day.

I can see you did that around when you initially posted here, and your was cancelled and refunded as requested. This is in line with your original post so it seems like your issue was resolved. Is there anything OpenRent can do for you at this point?
