Landlord Address for Service

I live abroad and I want to rent my property out in the uk, but I am required to provide a Landlord Address for Service in the uk, which I am struggling to find, as I would like to self manage the rent. Does anybody know what options I have apart from the ones of solicitors, estate agents, etc.

@Carina2

Nothing new, it dates back to 1987 legislation

Under Section 48 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987, landlords in England and Wales must provide tenants with a physical address in England or Wales for serving notices (including legal proceedings)

Here is a list of the types addresses that landlords typically provide:

  • Landlord’s home address
  • Business address
  • Landlord’s solicitor’s address
  • The address of the letting agent or managing agent.
  • Address of a friend or relative (popular for landlords who live abroad)

Can the Section 48 Notice be a PO Box?

No. The postal address cannot be a PO box. It must be an actual, physical address.
