I have a couple of questions relating to PAT testing.

  1. When I get someone in to do PAT Tesing, do I have to get them to test the tenant’s own electrical items e.g. hairdryers?
  2. I don’t provide washing machines, but in one of my flats a tenant left a washing machine behind. I told the incoming tenant he was welcome to use it but made it clear it wasn’t provided by me and I’m not responsible for fixing or replacing it when it goes wrong. Do I have to get that machine PAT tested?

Only PAT test the stuff you provide. Re. was. mach… get it in writing its tenants responsibility
