Photos and description missing from portal listings

I’m so peeved. This is my second time listing with OpenRent. The first time, it went well. This time…

Only 10 of the 19 photos I included have been uploaded to the portals, and none of the most important ones (including the EPC graph, which is a requirement). The first 24 hours on Rightmove etc. are crucial and I don’t know if / when the photos will be fixed. They also haven’t uploaded my description, which has information needed for regulatory compliance, and saves me wasting time answering unnecessary enquiries.

I was so happy with OpenRent last time, and thought I’d carry on using them indefinitely. But this has really put me off ever using them again. I’ve read the listing requirements, and I can’t see anything I’ve done wrong. But removing my description and the EPC graph from the photos means that my listing isn’t compliant now. To the point I’m considering taking it off OpenRent, wasting the £99 I spent (although I would be complaining and applying for a refund in that case), and listing next Monday with someone else, but I have no idea who.

Edit:

Ok, so it turns out you have to select

’Only publish with full description and photos’

in your preferences. This is insane to me. Why is the default option the stupid one? Why on earth would you want your listing to hit the portals without the full description and all the photos. Maybe it’s different for low demand properties, but for ones that are in high demand but short supply, potential tenants have alerts on the portals for saved searches, I’ve had loads of traffic to my listing and it’s missing crucial (legally required) information. Alert emails have gone out with the wrong (not particularly appealing) main photo. These email alerts don’t get resent once the listing is updated with the correct photos and information.

So yes, great, I’ve prevented this happening again in future, but it’s utterly bonkers that the default is to push the listing out to the portals before it’s ready.

i am sure one of the staff will answer you soonish

Fingers crossed! But even if they fix it in the next five minutes, it’s still a big problem that it happened in the first place.

First world problems😀

Uploading a picture of an EPC graph is not a regulatory requirement.

What else do you put in your description, that you feel are regulatory requirements?
