My new tenant is coming from Canada. Start date is one week’s time. They sent the deposit 9 days ago unisng the IBAN number provided by OpenRent. Open Rent have not confirmed the arrival… The tenants are getting stressed their money is missing in the system. Has this happened to anyone else? How can I get to speak to an actual human being at OpenRent?
Ive always found Openrent reply promptly to emails sent via their help centre.
I would ask for proof of payment from your potential tenant, and compare the bank details quoted on the payment, with the correct payment details from Openrent.
Thanks for the reply, I have been in contact… the money appears to be in the ether (10 days now) as OpenRent say they haven’t had it and the Tenants bank have shown docs to prove it was sent… they said it takes a while to verify new overseas payments. Hope to hear more on Monday. Once I messaged OR they were very responsive, so I’m sure it’ll be sorted in due course.

It happened to my tenant and the explanation was that, Openrent bank accounts was not being identified by this certain UK bank. So the money was not released to openrent for security reasons.
Perhaps you should ask your tenents to contact their bank to confirm the funds being released to openrent.
